XV Workshop on Parallel, Distributed and Mobile Systems (WSDP'2011)
The Workshop on Parallel, Distributed and Mobile Systems gathers for 15 years to all members of the Latin American scientific community that work in the area of distributed and parallel sistems. Their purpose is to favor and promote the interchange of knowledge, disclose of works and results in the South American region, the discussion of proposals and the collaboration between the researchers that work in this area. This 15th year, reaching the maturity as a Workshop, we have invited the industrial and business community to participate in this event.
III International Workshop on Advanced Software Engineering (IWASE'2011)

The Post-graduate Meeting reunites every year students of the masters and PhD programs in computing sciences and related areas of chilean universities. The idea of the meeting is to show to the hole computing community in Chile the investigation work done by the students in the area and, at the same time, that the graduated students recibe comments of another students, researchers and teachers from other universities about their thesis work. The meeting will take place along the Jornadas Chilenas de Computación 2011.
Encuentro Universidad-Empresa
Since its founding in 1984, the Sociedad Chilena de Ciencia de la Computación (SCCC) has organized annually the Jornadas Chilenas de Computación (JCC) , the largest Chilean event that annually brings together academics, students and professionals related to the area of Science computing.
The 2011 edition of the JCC is being organized by the Department of Computer Science at the University de Talca, and will take place between 7 and 11 November at the Hotel Villa El Descanso, Curicó City (Maule region).
The program of the JCC includes, for the 7th of November, the University-Business Meeting, a space that aims to strengthen the positive synergistic linkages between universities, business and government, with computer-related technologies and communications.
Primer Encuentro de Mujeres en Computación (WSCCC'11)
For the first time at the JCC there will be a meeting of Women in Computing. This initiative aims to create a network of academic contacts and students in the area, to give visibility to our work, interests and problems. The idea is to create an annual meeting point and start an interest group that allows us to perform activities during the year.
To launch this initiative, we organized a panel for the JCC. The panelists are leading academics and graduate students, who perform their work in Chilean universities. Broadly, the topics discussed at this meeting are:
- Reconciling the race (academic) and family life: ease or difficulty having children in the context of the University, either as academic or student. Issues related to part of a minority group within technical faculties.
- Participation of women in computing careers Chile: Could there be more involved? Would this be beneficial?
- How can you help an organization of Women in Computing in Chile?
Seminario Open-Data
